We got married on May 20th at Santa Claus Lane Beach, with the
reception at Rincon Beach Club.
First of all: Look for my wedding album to be up here soon! Here's
our review of our vendors:
Reception Location/Catering/Lighting & Materials: Rincon Beach
Club (contact information can be
found on this site or at www.rinconbeachcatering.com)
The food was awesome, everyone loved it. Everything was presented
artistically, but also tasted SO
GOOD- we had guests going back for seconds and thirds. The decor
was beautiful- I love that you
get an all-inclusive package that you're able to customize. When
the sun set the twinkle lights
glowed and there was even a firepit to stand around. It truly
looked like a magical fairy-land - which
was exactly what I wanted. We chose simple ivory linens to go with
my dress and give everything a
fresh, springtime feel and their "funky" anterns for lighting.
Melissa was in charge and she was so
helpful and listened to everything we wanted. She and the entire
staff were really helpful and made
everyone feel so welcome that we were the last people out. I would
definately reccomend them to
anyone looking for a great party!
Rehearsal Dinner: Paolis phone number 805-962-5350 (now under new and
improved management!)
The food was great and everyone had a good time. The atmosphere
was very casual and relaxed,
the food was excellent and the price was amazing.
Photographer: Katie Moos (www.katiemoos.com or find her on this
site) and assistant:
Katie was so amazing! We interviewed at least five photographers,
and they were all great - but we
chose Katie because I believe she is one of the best photographers
in Santa Barbara, and she really
listened to what we wanted. She's very creative and had a artistic
approach which we loved - she
even did our beach pictures with surfboards. I'd definitely
reccomend Katie to anyone who wants to
love every single one of their photographs! She's one of the
best.
Cake: Montecito Confections made a delicious chocolate raspberry/lemon vanilla cake - it arrived on
time, and looked beautiful even though it was a hot day. We had
them deliver it plain, and Maya
decorated it for us.
Wedding and bridesmaids' dresses - La Boutique de la Brides in San
Francisco. Alterations were done
at Elaine up in Palo Alto.
Wedding Music/Entertainment: Spencer and the Wedding Band
They were awesome and upbeat. Everyone was dancing, laughing,
having a great time - Our friends
were having such a wonderful time that by the last song some of
them were actually singing with the
band! The fact that Spencer and his guys were able to improvise
and "roll with the punches" really
made our evening. No one wanted to leave!
Officiant: Laurence Brockaway gave us a number of choices of
beautiful , pre-written ceremonies
that I'd reccomend to anyone. We'd already written our ceremony,
but felt really comfortable with
him- he even came to our rehearsal! He was a truly calming, joyful
presence at our wedding.
Hair/makeup: I am an esthetician, so I did this myself.
Coordination: Voila Weddings - Maya Hampton - 805-452-6754.
She was awesome. Super helpful.
I hired her for day of but she went above and beyond, helping me
with so much. She wasn't only my
planner but also now a friend. Sometimes it didn't even feel like planning a
great party. The day of went on without a hitch and if there was
one I didn't know about it. Maya took care of it all. She also has
a tiki bar and archway which she rents out, that I used as well.
I
would definately hire her, its worth it.
Invitations: We did these ourselves using materials from Art
Essentials - everyone told me how
beautiful they were.
Video: A friend did this as a special favor to us - we love it!
All in all, it was wonderful. And thank you Santa Barbara Wedding
Guide, you are a great resource.
Please email me if you have any further questions about our
vendors!
